Composite Doors

What are Composite doors?

Quality composite doors installed by Sheerwater Glass

Composite doors are a practical and functional door design which combat the issues relating to traditional doors. As you might expect, they are made up of various materials, but the most common combination is either a high-density foam filling or a solid timber core. This core is then covered with a glass reinforced plastic (GRP) outer skin.

Composite Doors | More Information

The benefits offered by composite doors:

  • Durable and hard-wearing
  • Robust and secure
  • Energy efficient
  • Low maintenance
  • Versatile, accommodating any number of styles

They’re all compelling reasons to make this choice for your property, but here at Sheerwater Glass we’re making your decision even easier.
First impressions are important and this is especially true of your house -whether you’re welcoming friends and family at the threshold or marketing your house to potential buyers.  No feature is more critical to that first impression than your front door.  If you’ve lived with the exterior appearance of your house for years, you’ll be familiar with it and perhaps find it impossible to imagine how a brand new, bespoke door might look.  We’ve recognised the problem here at Sheerwater Glass and come up with a really fantastic solution.

It is often quite difficult when buying products for the house, to visualise how they’re going to look once installed in your own home.  Will the style and colour you select in the showroom work well in your own property and enhance the overall appearance of your house?  You might also want to consider whether it will fit with the look of neighbouring properties.

Visual Composite Door Planner

Our ‘Visual Composite Door Planner’ gives you complete control of every aspect of the design of your door, from frame size and colour through to the detail of the door furniture. It couldn’t be simpler to use.  Starting with the design of the door, the planner will offer you a wide variety of options at every stage and allows you to play around with the details as you go along. Start by clicking the ‘Door’ button or use the information point for instructions.
