Argon Gas

1 min read Windows

What is Argon Gas?

Argon gas is a gas fill used most often by window manufacturers to displace the air between the panels in windows. This special gas is pumped inside insulated glass units to improve their energy efficiency.

Argon is a non-toxic, odourless gas used on residential windows to prevent frost from forming at the bottom of the window and improve thermal efficiency. By using Argon gas during window installation it offers better insulation.

What are the benefits?

Using argon gas minimises heat exchange through the window, improving energy efficiency and cutting heating bill costs.

It also reduces the possibility of condensation and frost.

Our customers say

“Used the Sheerwater team to replace a couple of Velux windows in our converted loft. Really first class experience, great communication throughout, super professional and the installation was the best we've had in terms of fit and finish and (lack of) damage to surrounding areas. Will use again!”Tim Loake
