uPVC, aluminium, timber and timber alternative, in casement, flush casement, sash, mock sash and tilt and turn. Including our exclusive slimline uPVC range and secondary glazing for conservation areas.
Installed by our own FENSA registered team, not subcontractors. Showroom in Guildford, around 14 miles away.
Walton is the largest town in Elmbridge, and it has a wider range of housing than its reputation suggests: a town centre rebuilt around 279 apartments, two private estates with their own covenants and their own gates, a model almshouse village with over a hundred listed buildings, and a great deal of ordinary interwar and postwar housing in between.
We cover KT12 and the surrounding area, and we repair work other companies fitted as readily as we fit our own.
Walton grew more than fourfold between 1851 and 1911, from just over 4,000 people to more than 19,000, driven by the railway. Then it grew again after the war, then again when the film studios closed and their land was built on, and again when the town centre was rebuilt. Each phase left a different kind of house behind.
Across Elmbridge, 28 per cent of homes are detached and nearly 23 per cent are flats. In Walton the split runs from gated one acre plots at Burwood Park to apartment blocks in the middle of town.
| Part of Walton | What is typically there | What usually suits it |
|---|---|---|
| Town centre, the Heart of Walton | Rebuilt in the 1960s and rebuilt again since. Now a shopping centre with 279 one and two bedroom apartments above and around it, and the library alongside | Replacement sealed units where the frames are sound, and communal or block level glazing work. Freeholder or managing agent consent is normally needed before anything starts |
| Ashley Park | The heritage pocket. The estate was sold off in phases from the 1838 arrival of the railway, with the decisive phase in the 1920s when the Sassoon executors imposed covenants requiring low density detached housing. The interwar stock is predominantly Arts and Crafts, much of it by W. G. Tarrant. There is a listed eighteenth century Dower House on Oatlands Drive | Timber and timber alternative flush casements, leaded and small pane detailing where the original had it. Covenants may still bite here, so check before designing |
| Burwood Park | A 360 acre private gated estate on a former Henry VIII deer park, developed by the Guinness family from 1927. First houses on Eriswell, Onslow and Cranley roads in the 1930s, postwar expansion, and 1990s infill splitting larger plots. 384 properties, four controlled entrances, ANPR | Bespoke work. Access arranged in advance. Assume covenants and check them before anything is designed |
| Riverside, Walton Bridge, Manor Road | The Thames frontage. The current Walton Bridge, the sixth on the site, opened in 2013. This band is the flood exposed part of the town | Worth a conversation about specification. See the flood note below |
| Hersham, Whiteley Village, the postwar estates | Hersham is a designated conservation area with a mixed stock: roughly 1,470 detached, 2,012 semi detached, 784 terraced and 856 flats. Whiteley Village, founded on William Whiteley’s million pound bequest realised in 1907, has over 250 almshouses and more than a hundred listed buildings by Blomfield, Aston Webb, Macartney and Newton, and is itself a conservation area. Plus the 1,000 plus council houses built across Walton and Hersham after the war, and the housing built on the old Nettlefold Studios site in the early 1960s | Slimline uPVC casements and composite front doors for the postwar stock. Timber and timber alternative in Hersham Village. Whiteley Village is a listed Arts and Crafts collection run by a charitable trust, so anything there is a consented conservation job, not a retail one |
If you are not sure which of these your house sits in, send us a photo of the front elevation and we will tell you what we would fit and why, before anyone comes out.
Usually not. Replacing windows in a house is normally permitted development, and that still applies inside a conservation area. It changes if your house is listed, or if Elmbridge Borough Council has made an Article 4 direction covering your street. Flats and maisonettes are treated differently, and on a leasehold flat you will normally need written consent from the freeholder or managing agent as well.
Elmbridge has 22 conservation areas. Walton has more than one of its own, and Hersham Village and Whiteley Village are separately designated. Ashley Park and Burwood Park are not conservation areas but both carry private covenants dating from the 1920s.
This is worth saying plainly, because nobody else does. In the winter of 2013 and 2014, Surrey had 275 per cent of its normal winter rainfall and around 100 properties in Elmbridge flooded internally. The Thames at Shepperton, directly opposite Walton, reached roughly a one in fifteen to twenty year event. Molesey flooded in 1968 and again in 2014.
If your property sits in a flood zone, it changes what we would recommend. Door thresholds, frame materials, how a low threshold is detailed, and whether a timber frame is the right choice at ground level are all worth discussing before you order, not after. It can also affect your insurance and, on some work, your building regulations position.
We are not flood consultants and we will not pretend to be. But we will ask the question at survey, and if your address is in a flood zone we will tell you what we would specify differently and why.

Yes. Walton on Thames, Hersham, Ashley Park, Burwood Park, Whiteley Village and the town centre. That is KT12. We also cover Weybridge, Molesey, Esher, Thames Ditton, and across the river at Shepperton and Sunbury.
Unit B5, Moorfield Point, 41 Slyfield Industrial Estate, Guildford, GU1 1RU. Around 14 miles, roughly 30 to 40 minutes by the A3 or the A245 through Byfleet and Woking. Parking on site, no appointment needed.
It can. Threshold heights, frame materials and how a low threshold is detailed all matter more at ground level in a flood zone, and it can affect your insurance position too. Around 100 Elmbridge properties flooded internally in the winter of 2013 and 2014. We will ask at the survey and tell you what we would specify differently and why. We are not flood consultants, and for a formal assessment you would want one.
Usually not. Replacing windows in a house is normally permitted development, including inside a conservation area. It changes if your house is listed, or if Elmbridge Borough Council has made an Article 4 direction covering your street. On a leasehold flat you will normally need written consent from the freeholder or managing agent. We check at the survey.
Yes. Burwood Park is a private gated estate with controlled entrances, so access is arranged in advance rather than turning up. Both estates carry covenants dating from the 1920s, Ashley Park’s requiring low density detached housing, and they are worth checking before any external alteration is designed. We will help you establish what applies.
Usually, yes. Much of Ashley Park’s interwar stock is Arts and Crafts, a good deal of it by W. G. Tarrant, and it typically needs flush casements with small pane or leaded detailing rather than a standard uPVC frame. Timber and timber alternative both work. Bring us a photo and we will tell you what we would do.
Yes. The Heart of Walton development alone has 279 apartments, and flats make up a substantial share of homes across the borough. For a leasehold flat you will normally need freeholder or managing agent consent first, and in some blocks the windows are the freeholder’s responsibility rather than yours. We will tell you which applies at the survey.
Yes. Misted or blown sealed units, dropped or sticking doors, failed hinges, handles and locks, broken glass, VELUX faults and traditional putty glazing. You do not need to have bought the original installation from us and the company that fitted it does not need to still exist.
Yes. We cut glass to order: replacement sealed units, mirrors, splashbacks, shelves, table tops, shower screens, greenhouse glass and safety glass. Bring your measurements to the glass and repairs surgery in Guildford, or send them through the cut glass quote form.
Yes, automatically, on every installation that qualifies. You will need it when you sell the house.
You’ll speak to a real person, not a call centre. We’ll talk you through options, no pressure.
